Somebody also asked about my new novel number 3 ( Heroic Fantasy, this time) currently in progress ... begin with the publishing house. I just asked my contact at the publisher in question asking if I could do the same but the name I was told, wisely, that it is still under evaluation is best to leave at the time of naming names. The evaluation times vary from six to eight months, more or less. I said "change" because it depends on number of manuscripts currently reading. Remember that a publisher can receive daily average something like thirty of new texts, some of which also included many pages (the usual Fantasy, but not only ...) and this means that it takes time, long time.
Second question .. or how to send an unpublished manuscript ? Well, first of all you need to make a selection of publishing houses that they could accept the text in our vision. La pubblicazione con contributo è una pratica perfettamente legale e in alcuni casi anche proficua per l'Autore ed è ovvio che ognuno è libero di fare la propria scelta. Quanto a me, scelgo di adoperarmi per la promozione del libro, correggere le bozze, ascoltare i consigli dell’editor… fare presentazioni… Insomma, COLLABORARE con la Casa Editrice per la miglior realizzazione possibile del mio libro. E vi posso assicurare che la Casa Editrice che ho scelto è molto seria. Il tempo necessario per leggere il libro è naturalmente in funzione dell’impegno che ci si impiega per leggerlo quindi, una volta spedito il malloppo, animo in pace e si aspettano i risultati. Come inviare il manoscritto? Dipende. In genere serve una lettera di presentazione, una sinossi (un breve riassunto comprensivo anche del finale del vostro libro più le considerazioni personale sul perché lo avete scritto) e naturalmente il manoscritto. Alcuni editori accettano estratti (cui seguiranno, se apprezzano, l’invio del manoscritto completo) altri tutto il libro. dipende dai casi. Perché affidare “Primus” al notaio?
Questa domanda merita una risposta più approfondita.
